Summertime fun

Life is moving fast!

I can't believe is the end of July already. Where does the time go? The summer has been full of travels and friends so far. In the last few weeks we were visited by the Brooks family a couple that we were close with in Portland who have had a little girl this past year. Naomi was scooting very well and on the verge of crawling when they came to visit. Ellyann was trying to figure out how to catch up.

When we are not traveling or having visitors Ellyann and her mom love to lounge and snuggle. This is one of Ellyann's favorite toys. She is very into things that sing to her right now. The other day she was having a hard time falling asleep so I wound up her lullaby giraffe. A few minutes later when I went in to check on her she was hugging him and her snuggle blanket and fast asleep.

Next our travels took us to Portland for a much needed visit to see old friends and relax. We were able to stay with the Searights who are headed to Scotland for ministry and school later this summer (check out their blog for info on what they are doing). We had to see them and their little girl before they leave. Jayelle had just turned 1 when we arrived so we enjoyed some birthday celebration. We were also able to see the Banker's, Pace's and Ford Jordan and just hang for an evening.

Jayelle and Ellyann had fun getting to know one another.

Pace's made lava cakes for everyone.

Mmmmm, they were SO good.

Luke and Ellyann got some great Dad/Daughter time during the trip. He kept stealing her from me. Luke really loves his little girl.

We always have to capture this very serious face. She makes it much less often these days but we are still wondering what she is thinking behind that scowl.

While we were in Oregon the 6 of us took a trip to Lincoln City, a little town on the coast just to get away and relax. We pretty much hung out and played games the whole time we were there.
It was so great!

On our way there...Jay was supposed to be napping.

Ellyann was out.

The girls were having way too much fun...

And the boys went along with the fun in the other car by waving for us...thanks boys!

Just hanging out.

The boys getting ready to watch Aladdin with their girls, Ellyann's first Disney movie.

Ellyann even got to experience the beach, the cold, windy Oregon beach.

The Girls!

All Bundled Up

Crazy Family

We managed a few smiles out of her.

But this was the look on her face most of the trip. Lets just say she wasn't too excited about all the wind.

Ellyann and Jayelle loved playing together on the exersaucer.
We got to check out the Portland Zoo.

The girls in their strollers at the zoo.

Ellyann was a champ on the trip and did a great job adjusting to being at home again too. We really are spoiled by her. Her new favorite things to do are roll around, which she has fully mastered now. She will roll across the floor with one of her stuffed animals almost like she is wrestling with it. It is pretty funny. She is starting to scoot around in circles and even got up on all fours today. We definitely have a mover on our hands. She is a big flirt, smiling at everyone and giving them her own version of a conversation. She loves to talk.

Hope that you all enjoyed and we will keep posting pictures and stories.

We will be off soon to Mount Hermon for a week of camp so we will have lots to share when we come home.

Love to you all and please keep us posted on how life is going for you.

With love,

The Thomas'
